E-Textiles

The combination of elastic sensors with elastic textiles enables numerous applications of sensors:

Gloves, shirts, bandages, shoe inserts or socks can be equipped with pressure / strain sensors or electrodes and combine wearing comfort with sensor functions in electronic textiles. They can be used in medicine, ergonomics or for sports.

The flexible and stretchable dielectric silicone sensors (DES) can be excellently integrated into textile substrates. By a freely determinable arrangement of many small sensor points, it is possible to realize an individual measuring surface with a high spatial resolution.

Glove with dielectric elastomer sensors.

Dielectric elastomer sensors with their soft and flexible structure can be integrated very well in textiles. Thus, such capacitive elastomer pressure sensors can be incorporated, for example, in the fingertips of gloves.

The monitoring of movement and pressure load as well as the actuator- or electrical triggering of signals or stimuli on the clothing or clothing components may be interesting for different applications. In sports and fitness, they can be used to control proper posture, for optimal fit of shoes and insoles, or for support in play and sports equipment.
